Course manual
Gaussian Splatting — Récits urbains
A bilingual (FR/EN) course manual for a one-day introduction to Gaussian splatting, written for design students: theory in the morning, fieldwork in the afternoon on the Île de Nantes, in the Quartier de la Création. By the end of the day each student has captured a fragment of the city with their phone, cleaned it, and published it as a link — with a point of view that tells something.
Ten chapters in four parts follow the day — understanding (a new medium, what a splat is, how one is made, splats among other kinds of 3D), telling (urban narratives), the tools (capturing with Scaniverse, training with LichtFeld Studio, cleaning and publishing with SuperSplat) and fieldwork (the site map, the brief and the hand-in, a symptoms → fixes index) — plus a FAQ and a FR/EN glossary. Twelve inline SVG diagrams and an OpenStreetMap-based map, all bilingual and theme-aware.
