Coursebook

Coursebook is a Claude Code skill for writing bilingual course and workshop manuals as a single self-contained HTML file, audited for FR/EN consistency and served from GitHub Pages. One file, two languages, no build step, no dependencies, no framework: a student gets a link; a teacher gets a file that still opens in five years, from a USB key, with the wifi down.

Every requirement of a course document points the same way. Students read on phones and on lab machines without admin rights; workshops happen in rooms with broken wifi; a colleague wants to adapt the material next year. A static-site generator satisfies none of this, so Coursebook produces one .html with inline CSS and JS and edits it with scripts rather than by hand.

What the skeleton ships with: a bilingual toggle remembered between visits, client-side search built from what is actually on screen, cumulative level bands so one manual serves first to fifth year, figure slots for screenshots you cannot take yet (hidden from readers, revealed with ?figures as a to-do list), a print stylesheet, a seven-pass audit that catches a table row added in French and forgotten in English, and deterministic starter archives so CI can tell a stale zip from a rebuilt one.
